About Dr. Wallisa
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Wallisa is a military brat, reared by southerners, and calls wherever she resides “home”.
Dr. Wallisa earned her undergraduate degree from Xavier University, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
As an experienced hospital and outpatient physician, Dr. Wallisa has worked worked extensively with vulnerable populations including patients receiving addiction treatment. She’s a major evangelist for integrating medical and mental health care in all aspects of treatment. In this vein, Dr. Wallisa is licensed in medication assisted treatment for opioid recovery and certified in alternative treatments for chronic illnesses.
Dr. Wallisa’s patients receive personalized care because she doesn’t believe in “one size fits all” medicine. One of her life mottos is “Live with intention.” She practices medicine with intention by thinking outside the box and using education to empower patients to their new normal, WELLNESS.
